Session 1: Meet The Board
Rasvi Ahmed
Non-Executive Director
Rasvi is an investment banker specialising in Financial Services M&A, IPOs and strategic advice. He is currently a Managing Director at BNP Paribas having previously worked for Rothschild and Credit Suisse.
Rasvi was one of Rare’s very first candidates back in 2006 and has now come full circle having joined the Board as a NED in 2021.
Sarah Lee
Non-Executive Director
Sarah Lee is a lawyer and former partner and board member at Slaughter and May. She is currently a Non-Executive Director of the Financial Ombudsman Service, a Commissioner of the Judicial Appointments Commission, a Non-Executive Director of the Independent Press Standards Organisation and the Chair of Islington Giving.
Sarah has spent most of her legal career as a partner of Slaughter and May. During her time at the firm, Sarah was Head of the Dispute Resolution Group.
Sir David Bell
Non-Executive Director
Sir David Bell is a non-executive director of the Economist. He is a former Director of Pearson plc, Chairman and CEO of the Financial Times, and Chairman of Pearson Inc.
David is currently Chairman of Sadler's Wells, Chair of Council, Roehampton University, Chairman of the London Transport Museum, Chairman of the Transformation Trust, Chairman of Rare, Chair of Bath Mozartfest, Chair of Cambridge University Press and Chair of The Institute of War & Peace Reporting Europe. He is a trustee of the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation, Pearson Group Pension, Worth School, Cornerstone Property Assets, the Bureau for Investigative Journalism, Girl Hub and the Centre for the Study of Financial Innovation (CSFI), and a member of the Honorary Council of the Royal National Theatre.
David was an Assessor on the Leveson Inquiry into the Culture, Practice and Ethics of the Press and Chairman of the Millennium Bridge Trust.
Sandra Scheerer
Non-Executive Director
Sandra is a consultant to City law firms and a former Director in Pillsbury's Global Technology and Sourcing Practice Group in London. Sandra was previously General Counsel and Board member at Unisys Limited, where she negotiated and advised on all outsourcing projects, some of which were the biggest in the UK. She was the youngest person on the Unisys board, and the first woman ever to be appointed to it. Sandra also advises various charities, is a former Board member of Sense and is on the board of the Microloan Foundation.
Andrew Franklin
Non-Executive Director
Andrew is the founder and Managing Director of Profile Books, one of Britain's leading independent publishers. Profile has been consistently profitable since its second year and has grown continuously. His list of authors includes three Nobel Laureates.
He is a trustee of the Edinburgh International Book Festival, former Chairman of the Jewish Community Centre for London, and a visiting professor at City University, London.

CEO & Co-Founder, Word on the Curb
Ndubuisi Uchea is the CEO & Co-Founder of Word on the Curb, a youth media agency powered by cultural insights that works with brands like O2, The Open University and a number of agencies to better engage with audiences often deemed as hard-to-reach. Having led the award-winning agency for the last 6 years, Ndu has been recognised by Deutsche Bank as a Creative Entrepreneur of Excellence, was awarded a place on The Marketing Academy Scholarship and is a LinkedIn Top Voice. Prior to running Word on the Curb, Ndu worked at L'Oréal UKI for three years after successfully completing the year-long Commercial Management Trainee grad scheme in eight months - a role secured via Rare Recruitment.

Dr Sara Kayat
TV Doctor, Wellness Professional, NHS GP
Dr Sara Kayat is a London-based NHS GP, media doctor, and private health consultant passionate about wellness and preventative medicine. She offers private consultations, including GLP-1 support, and shares practical health tips online. Sara is a familiar face on ITV’s This Morning and authored How to Have a Baby, combining expertise with accessible, evidence-based guidance.

Chetan Halai
Product Director, Rare
Chetan worked on candidate management, account management, then business development before moving into product development for Rare. His first role was on L’Oréal’s Marketing Graduate scheme as a Rare candidate, where he cut his teeth in digital marketing for global brands including Urban Decay, Viktor & Rolf and Diesel Fragrances.
Chetan is currently responsible for overseeing the development of our award-winning software products, and has been instrumental in bringing our pioneering technology products to life.
Ffion Hopkins
Early Careers Advisor, Mishcon de Reya
Ffion is the Early Careers Advisor at Mishcon de Reya, specialising in attracting, assessing and recruiting future lawyers through vacation schemes and apprenticeship programmes. She focuses on widening access to the profession, partnering with external organisations to design inclusive routes into law for all. Ffion has a particular interest in how data and technology can streamline recruitment while preserving the human, relationship-driven aspects that matter most to candidates and hiring managers.
Martin Kavanagh
Head of Assessment, Amberjack
Martin brings a wealth of expertise in talent assessment and designing high-impact processes for global organisations. As Head of Assessment at Amberjack, Martin leads a talented team of Occupational Psychologists who design and deliver award-winning assessment solutions for a wide range of clients in the Early Careers and Volume Hiring space. He also drives assessment innovation and product development, shaping cutting-edge approaches that keep Amberjack at the forefront of the industry.
A Chartered Occupational Psychologist and Chartered Member of the CIPD, he holds an MSc in Occupational Psychology from the University of Nottingham. Martin is also a verified assessor for the British Psychological Society and a sought-after speaker at major industry events, sharing insights that continue to influence the future of assessment and talent strategy.
Nicola Micklewright
Senior Early Talent Manager, Taylor Wessing
Nicola Micklewright is Senior Early Talent Manager at Taylor Wessing UK, where she leads early careers and development strategies. With over 20 years' experience in legal sector talent acquisition, Nicola has held senior positions at leading law firms including Baker McKenzie, Irwin Mitchell, and CMS.
Her expertise spans the full lifecycle of early careers programmes, from designing inclusive recruitment processes to managing apprentice and trainee solicitor development across multiple offices.

Yasmina Koné
Deputy Lead, Hemisphere Education
Yasmina is Deputy Lead of Hemisphere Education, a multi award-winning platform improving racial and cultural literacy in schools. She’s spearheading Hemisphere’s adoption in the UK: building partnerships with leading schools, education partnerships and multi-academy trusts. Prior to Hemisphere, Yasmina held senior roles at one of London’s top 10 start-ups, Beam, and Magic Circle law firm Clifford Chance. Profiled by the BBC and The Lawyer, her work has also earned her invitations to speak in Parliament. She combines strategic acumen with a commitment to social justice and is passionate about the education sector’s role in creating a more inclusive society.
Fiona Fleming
Head of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, Farrer & Co
Fiona Fleming is the Head of ED&I at Farrer & Co. A legal-industry specialist, she has a passion for inclusive culture change. Her work has been recognised at the Women and Diversity in Law Awards, where she was shortlisted for DE&I Champion of the Year (2025), and where the firm was named Law Firm of the Year in 2025.
Fiona is known for her data-driven approach to inclusion, advocating for measurable impact and tailored engagement across all levels. She has led firm-wide audits, developed inclusive training programmes, and speaks regularly about inclusion in the legal industry. A trusted voice in the legal and professional services sector, Fiona brings clarity, compassion, and strategic insight to every conversation.
In addition to her role at Farrer & Co, she also sits on the committee of the Legal Neurodiversity Network and volunteers with Norwich Pride.
Nikki Storey
Careers and Partnerships Manager, Clapton Girls' Academy
Nikki Storey is the Careers and Partnerships Manager at Clapton Girls’ Academy in Hackney. She holds a Master’s in Career Management from Canterbury Christ Church University and specialises in supporting young people to secure fulfilling careers. Nikki has guided thousands of students and alumni through one-to-one interviews, workshops, and application support, while embedding careers learning across the curriculum. She also leads staff development in careers education and builds partnerships with employers to deliver work experience, talks, and visits.
Suzanne Munday
Headteacher, Langley Park School for Boys
Suzanne Munday has been Headteacher at Langley Park School for Boys since April 2023. She has a strong commitment to maintaining the highest academic standards as well as supporting extra-curricular activities and is actively involved in her local community. A musician and linguist, she started her career as a music teacher and has worked at three different comprehensive schools in South London, including as Deputy Head, before taking on her second Deputy Headship at Sydenham High.

Naomi Kellman
Head of Research and Data, Rare
Naomi joined Rare in 2011 and founded Target Oxbridge, a programme that has helped close to 600 Black African and Caribbean students secure Oxbridge offers. Naomi spent 2012 to 2015 working on education policy at the Department for Education and the Treasury. She has co-founded the BAME Fast Stream Network and the Oxford Black Alumni Network and has made appearances on national news channels to discuss diversity in education and recruitment. She is a Director of the Institute of Student Employers and a Trustee for the PRIME Commitment.
Holly Fey
Head of Resourcing, Burges Salmon
Holly is a member of the People leadership team, and as Head of Resourcing, leads on talent acquisition strategies and activity. She is responsible for all resourcing and recruitment including emerging talent, experienced hire, flexible resourcing and executive search.
She is committed to ensuring that Burges Salmon attracts, retains, and develops top talent. To ensure anyone joining the firm has a smooth on-boarding journey, the resourcing team is also responsible for all pre-employment, induction and integration activity.
Holly is committed to seeking out new and innovative ways of working, and initiatives that align with the firm’s long-term goals. The team is award-winning and has been recognised at a number of industry awards including IHR and Legal Cheek.
Having worked at the firm since 2010, Holly has been involved in a number of significant change projects, including the opening of the Edinburgh office, launch of the Trailblazer Solicitor apprenticeship and establishment of the firm’s flexible resourcing service, BFlex.
Amia Tahir
Solicitor Apprentice, Dentons
Amia Tahir is a fourth year solicitor apprentice at Dentons and a co-founder of mylaunchpad- an organisation supporting students from low socioeconomic backgrounds to access careers in law through mentoring and skills programmes. Alongside her apprenticeship, Amia is passionate about redefining representation in the legal profession, particularly for those who come from disadvantaged backgrounds, and regularly speaks on topics including access to law, diversity, and the future of the profession.
