Raphael Mokades
Founder and Managing Director, Rare
Raphael Mokades is the founder and Managing Director of Rare, the multi award-winning leaders in diversity graduate recruitment.
Raphael founded Rare in 2005, on his own, with no recruitment experience, no technology expertise, no clients, no systems, and a desk in someone else’s office. Today, Rare works with over eighty of the world’s most prestigious employers, has some 10,000 candidates on its books, and builds cutting-edge software that is changing the world.
Raphael has a first class degree from Oxford University. He has written for the Guardian, Times and Financial Times and was Legal Week’s Outstanding Innovator for 2017.
Naomi Kellman
Head of Research and Data, Rare
Naomi Kellman is Rare Technology’s Head of Research and Data. She studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Oxford and joined Rare on graduating in 2011. In this role she founded Target Oxbridge, a programme that has helped over 600 Black African and Caribbean students secure Oxbridge offers, and currently supports hundreds of students a year
Naomi spent 2012 to 2015 working on education policy at the Department for Education and the Treasury, and served three years as a secondary school governor. She co-founded the BAME Fast Stream Network and the Oxford Black Alumni Network, and has made appearances on BBC News, Channel 5 News, ITV News and Sky News to discuss diversity in education and recruitment.
Naomi is a Director of the Institute of Student Employers and a Trustee for The PRIME Commitment. In 2021 she was awarded Manager of the Year by the Inspiring Women in Business Awards.
David Johnson
Managing Partner, Slaughter and May
David Johnson is the Managing Partner of Slaughter and May, responsible for developing and promoting the firm’s strategy and practice. He also oversees management of the firm and is a member of the firm’s Partnership Board.
David was Graduate Recruitment Partner for 6 years, during which time he supported the firm’s use of the Contextual Recruitment System (CRS) as part of its wider approach to assessing potential in trainee recruitment.

Molly Lewis
Senior Associate, Freshfields
Molly Lewis is a Senior Associate in Freshfields’ Commercial Dispute Resolution group. She advises corporates, financial institutions, professional services, private capital and pro bono clients across a broad range of litigation and international arbitration as well as in relation to regulatory proceedings and investigations.
Alongside her legal practice, Molly is a passionate advocate for social mobility within the legal profession. Having sat on the board since 202, in 2026, she took up the role of Executive Co-Chair of PRIME, the legal sector’s leading alliance focused on improving access to, and socio-economic diversity within, the profession. In this role, she works with PRIME’s 60+ law firm members and partners to expand opportunities for young people and promote best practice in widening access to careers in law
Peter Chater
Director of Recruitment, Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer
Pete Chater is Director of Recruitment at Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer, where he leads the global team and oversees recruitment strategy. He is a member of the firm’s Global People Leadership Team and has extensive experience leading international recruitment teams and supporting office growth across multiple jurisdictions.
Over the course of his career, Pete has led major initiatives focused on diversity and data-driven recruitment practices within the legal sector. He has worked closely with Rare on the development of contextual recruitment approaches for graduate hiring and has championed initiatives aimed at widening access to the profession, including the launch of the Rare HSF Kramer Roger Leyland Scholarship for under-represented ethnic minority undergraduates
Sengova Kailondo
Senior Associate, A&O Sherman
Sengova Kailondo is a Senior Associate at A&O Shearman, specialising in asset finance transactions across the aviation and transport sectors. He advises financiers, borrowers, lessors and operators on a broad range of complex cross-border transactions, including loan financings, sale and leasebacks, export credit facilities and leasing arrangements relating to commercial aircraft, corporate aircraft, helicopters and vessels.
Sengova has been recognised nationally and internationally for his expertise and achievements within the aviation finance industry. He was named one of Airfinance Global’s Rising Stars Europe 2025 and selected for the Airline Economics 40 Under 40 Class of 2024, recognising leading talent in the commercial aviation sector. In 2020, he was awarded “Junior Lawyer of the Year” at The Law Society Excellence Awards.
Alongside his legal practice, Sengova is passionate about widening access to the legal profession and has supported initiatives aimed at creating opportunities for aspiring lawyers from under-represented backgrounds. Prior to joining A&O Shearman, he spent more than a decade at Hogan Lovells and also worked with Rare Recruitment early in his career.
